Please indicate the average waiting time from referral to treatment (RTT) for Tier 3 weight management services over the past 5 years, rounded to one decimal place. Referrals have risen dramatically since COVID in 2020 – this led to an increase in waiting times to 12 months. We managed to hold this with extra restart funding post COVID from NHS England 2022-2023. The waiting time in July 2023 was about 14 months.

 We currently have staff vacancies. The waiting list is now over 3 years.

Please indicate how many patients are currently, and at the end of each financial year, on your RTT waiting list for Tier 3 weight management services. Where data is not readily available, please provide as much data as possible within “the appropriate limit” defined in Section 12 of the FOI Act:

We don’t hold data going back in time, however, there are currently 1146 patients waiting with a further 290 who’s referrals are awaiting review with a view to be added to the waiting list.
