Response:

Before October 2020, epidurals were not specifically documented electronically as a form of pain relief on our previous maternity system.

The Trust began using Badgernet in October 2020, so our data goes back to that point

The Trust does not distinguish between if a patient has requested an epidural or been offered an epidural by the midwife during intrapartum care

During the antenatal period analgesia options will be discussed with the community/continuity midwife and personal choices can be reflected in the birthplan.

Analgesia options will continue to be discussed and offered during intrapartum period with the midwife providing care. They can also be requested by the birthing person
