  1. Does your trust have a familial cancer service or services (for example, as part of a breast care team, family history clinic, or breast clinic) that manage people who could be at an increased risk of breast cancer because of a history of the disease or related cancers in their family?  No
  1. If your trust does not have a familial cancer service, where do you refer patients who need to have their familial breast cancer risk assessed?

Our Local Genetics Service is located at Birmingham Women’s Hospital. Patients with a family history concern complete a questionnaire and return in to Birmingham – They will then send the patient and ourselves a letter determining their risk. We then act upon it (requesting mammograms for those with Moderate Risk or forwarding on to the Very High Risk Screening Programme if appropriate).

Hereford and Worcester Breast Screening Service will accept referrals from a clinical genetic service for women registered with a GP assigned to their service and invite these women for annual breast surveillance (not assessment). The number of referrals received to the service during the time periods requested are shown below.

a.      The number of referrals your unit has received for assessment of possible familial breast cancer risk for each of the following periods:
