FOI REFERENCE: 24430   FOI DATE: 14th October 2024

Since the beginning of April 2024 how many nurses have left your trust?

Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust have had 104 Registered Nurse and Midwifery leavers between 1st April 2024 until 30th September 2024. This comprises 14 Midwives and 90 Registered Nurses.

From the date of receipt of this request until March 31st 2025, how many nurses are expected to leave your trust?

We are unable to answer this as we would only know that a nurse is leaving when a termination form is received. We can’t predict that far ahead. However, our turnover rate for nurses is currently 8.22% Nurses and 9.10% midwives, so on average we would be losing 15 WTE a month which would be around 90 leavers up to March 2025 (Nursing and Midwifery)

What are your current total vacancies for nurses on the date of receiving this request?

As at 30th September we have 86.33 FTE Registered Nurse vacancies and 21.85 FTE Registered Midwifery vacancies.

Does your trusts have any plans to recruit internationally in the next financial year, April 2025 – April 2026?

Yes, between 40 and 60
