Occupational Health services

Could you please provide me with an understanding of how your Trust defines OH and EAP respectively? What elements/criteria do you measure to track the provision of each?

EAP:

The Trust currently uses the supplier Network of Staff Supporters Ltd (NOSS) for provision of counselling support services to staff. OH, hold the budget for this service. NOSS is BACP accredited and as such regular audit and quality checks are conducted. Staff access this service on a confidential basis which makes it difficult for us to request direct feedback however we record details of any feedback on the service or complaints that are brought to our attention. Anecdotal feedback regarding the counselling provision is generally very positive. OH receive a very detailed monthly management information report from NOSS.  

OH:

The OH and wellbeing service provides a range of services to include pre-employment health screening, immunisation programmes, management of occupational exposures to blood and body fluids, management referrals, staff physiotherapy service.  The OH service is a SEQOHS accredited (Safe, Effective, Quality Occupational Health Service) which is the formal recognition that an occupational health service provider has demonstrated that it has the competence to deliver against the measures in the SEQOHS standards.

The OH team run a robust audit programme for admin and clinical staff. We also produce monthly stats for the Trust on all our services and gather feedback from managers and service users. Our IT system is set up with indicators of all our workflows so that SLA’s etc. can be monitored daily.

Could you also please provide a breakdown of how much the trust spends on OH and EAP respectively from the total spending figures you have provided in your initial FOI response?
