FOI REFERENCE: 24126  FOI DATE: 24th May 2024

  1. Does the Trust use a third-party provider to create/write, manage or track patient information leaflets?

If so, could you please provide the following information (if the Trust uses multiple third-party solutions, please provide details for all of these):

  • The current supplier(s)
  • Contract value(s) (per annum)
  • Contract(s) renewal date(s)
  • When did the Trust first start using this third-party?

Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust manage the clinical patient information leaflets, but just the ones that we develop locally.  We not aware of any departments that use third party companies to design leaflets, although they may give out nationally produced ones.

  • Does the Trust have a software solution to manage patient e-consent? If yes, is this a standalone solution, or part of a wider electronic patient records system?

Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust developed its own eConsent system circa 2010. The blueprints are with a third party developer, Wellbeing Software, who are developing its successor. We have a trial version of this, called eConsent 2. But I have no involvement with this, or the developers currently. So as things stand, the eConsent software we actually use has no third party supplier.

  • For the Trust’s patient e-consent system(s), could you please provide the following information (if the Trust uses multiple third-party solutions, please provide details for all of these): See Above
