Retail and Food Concessions

Request:

1. Do you have retail and food concessions such as coffee shops and general shops on your hospital premises?

Yes.

2. Which concessions are currently on your hospital premises? (For example, Costa Coffee, Marks and Spencer). If this is across sites, please list them.

Worcestershire Royal Hospital: Costa Coffee; Rivercourt Restaurant (ISS).

Alexandra Hospital, Redditch: Quinneys Restaurant (NHS); Hospital League of Friends Coffee Shop (Volunteer-run); Heroes General Shop.

Kidderminster Hospital & Treatment Centre: KTC Café (NHS); Hospital League of Friends Coffee Shop (Volunteer-run); Heroes 2 General Shop.

3. What training do you provide for employees working in the concessions on your hospital premises? For example, basic CPR, communication skills, hygiene, and dealing with distressed or confused people.

• All ISS catering staff at the Rivercourt restaurant and Costa Coffee complete Level 2 food Hygiene, allergen awareness and Natasha’s Law.
• All NHS staff are required to complete NHS mandatory & statutory training which includes – Fire Safety, Information Governance & Data Security, End of Life care awareness, Dementia awareness, Equality Diversity & Human rights, Health Safety and welfare, Infection Prevention and control, Moving and Handling, Conflict Resolution, Basic Prevent Radicalisation, Level 1 Resus, Basic Safeguarding adults & children, Patients Safety, Freedom to Speak up.
• NHS Catering staff are also required to complete Food Allergen training and a minimum of a Level 2 Food Safety & Hygiene certificate.

4. Can staff working in concessions on your hospital premises access pastoral care and support from your organisation? If the service is available to them, please outline what is available.

All NHS staff have access to the trust intranet page which includes a spiritual & pastoral homepage. Within this page staff have access to resources, pastoral events, the pastoral team for all sites and locations of the onsite multi faith prayer rooms. Staff can also use this page to contact the team.
