When asked about her apprenticeship Laura said:

“I am enjoying my Apprenticeship experience so far because I am learning new skills in a job I am happy in and progressing in my career at the same time. I have learnt life-long skills, continuous personal and professional development and had more experience of what tests are undertaken in our department and how to assist with them.

“I feel my training has enabled me to help out more in the department. I am new into my apprenticeship but feel it has already given me more confidence, drive and ambition to achieve my goal and succeed in this role.

“There have been challenges along the way with Covid19. With lockdown the college is closed so I’m currently studying online and having virtual tutorials and lectures from home, but this has suited me well and I have adapted to this way of learning. I am really proud to be achieving great feedback on my work from college as well as keeping up to speed with all my academic work set so far. There is a lot to juggle with work and study, but I am given study time to do this. Working through this pandemic has been a big challenge but one I feel I have coped well with.

“I would definitely encourage staff looking at Apprenticeships and to go for it, if you have the opportunity, as you’re earning while you learn. My ambition is to go onto university to do a degree and achieve this and graduate before my 40th birthday! I really appreciate the opportunity I have been given by the Trust.”
