Diagnosis of acute pancreatitis. Amylase is also raised in acute abdominal disorders, biliary tract disease, DKA, renal failure, ruptured ectopic pregnancy, macroamylasaemia, pancreatic pseudocyst, salivary gland inflammation (mumps).
