Guidelines

Pre-analytical

Sample transport should be at 4-25C and reach the laboratory ASAPPlease note: the samples must arrive the same day as collection otherwise they will be rejected by the laboratory

Prophylactic range 0.2-0.6 iu/mlTherapeutic range 0.6-1.0 iu/ml

Special requirements

Specimen should be collected 3-4hrs post dosage of Clexane and tested within 2hrs of collection

Minimum volume

1 tube minimum 90% full – essential to ensure 1:9 ratio of anticoagulant : blood
