A test to determine the antistreptolysin-O titre in serum. Measurement aids in the diagnosis of group A streptococcal infections. Tests performed in a UKAS Accredited Medical Laboratory No. 8873.

Range of assay (ASOT) <200 to 3600IU/ml Anti-streptolysin titre (ASOT) <200 Insignificant titre Anti-streptolysin titre 200 Equivocal result Anti-streptolysin titre >200 Significant Range of assay (ASD) <100 to >1600IU/ml Antistreptodornase B (ASD) titres greater than 200 U/ml in adults and 300 U/ml in school age children are considered as significant.
