Guidelines

Pre-analytical

Ideally patient should be fasted to avoid lipaemic samples. Biochemistry laboratory to be contacted prior to sample collection. Sample to be collected into pre-warmed tube (37oC) (collect tubes and flask from biochemistry laboratory) and returned to laboratory in flask within 45 minutes of sample collection.
