Guidelines

Pre-analytical

Discuss urgency of request with laboratory.A full specimen container is required for accurate testing. Lipaemic samples may cause problems with testing.Sample transport should be at 4-25C and reach the laboratory ASAPPlease note: the samples must arrive the same day as collection otherwise they will be rejected by the laboratory

Reference range

50-150 %Some clinically normal individuals have a Factor VIIIC of 35-50%.Values below 30% are unequivocally abnormal.
