Guidelines

Pre-analytical

When using a female swab for GC testing, please first use a swab to clear away excess mucus to prevent interference in testing. After this has been undertaken, please use a second swab to retrieve cells from the desired destination, ensuring the swab is rotated to ensure full coverage with specimen. Please ensure the sample is transported to the laboratory as soon as possible. If delayed DO NOT refrigerate.
