Test information

Used for monitoring patients on long term artificial nutrition (parenteral or enteral), especially those with renal and liver impairment. Cases of severe malnutrition may also warrant investigation. Manganese toxicity is not common, and manganese is more commonly raised due to factitious causes such as contamination. Manganese toxicity is a known problem in metal refining.
