Test information

For diagnosis of phaeochromocytomas in patients with equivocal urinary cats, or high-risk patients with familial syndromes. Collection of sample should be carefully controlled to avoid stress related increases in catecholamine levels.

Pre-analytical

Samples should be transported on ice to the lab (viable for 40-60 min) or if not on ice viable for 20 min. Samples should be separated and frozen within 1 hour of collection
