Test information

For investigation of possible selenium deficiency in patients on long term artificial nutrition. Annual checks of selenium status in patients on long term artificial nutrition are adequate unless monitoring a deficiency. Acute phase reactant and concomitant measurement of CRP may be useful in some circumstances as an aid to interpretation of low selenium concentration.
