Pre-analytical

Urinary catheter tips will NOT be accepted.Any materials used in taking these samples must be discarded in an approved clinical waste and/or sharps container.Compliance with postal and transport regulations is essential (Refer to PathologyPolicy for the Transport of Specimens (PO-U-GEN-SpecTransport).Specimen containers should be sent in sealed plastic bags attached to the request form.Specimens should be transported and processed as soon as possible, if there is a delay, please refrigerate the sample.
