Coming in for breast surgery

The breast surgery team has bases at all three hospital sites, which means we are able to provide care close to home for people in Worcestershire.

The department has a very high immediate breast reconstruction rate, where reconstruction begins at the time of mastectomy. We are also able to offer therapeutic mammoplasty, a procedure to reduce breast size at the same time as operating for breast cancer.

Most procedures are carried out either as a day case, or with a short 23 hour stay overnight. More complex work, like breast reconstruction, can mean a stay of up to four days.
