Your first line of advice about diabetes during a normal working day (Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm) should be the Paediatric Diabetes Specialist Nurses for your area. If your query is urgent, it is useful to leave a message on their mobile number as they may not always be working from the main office.

For out-of-hours advice (after 5pm and before 9am), and weekend and bank holiday advice, please contact Riverbank Children’s Ward on telephone number 01905 760588.

Ask to speak to the nurse in charge, who will contact the Paediatric Middle Grade Doctor, who will be able to advise you until your Paediatric Diabetes Specialist Nurses are next available.

When Paediatric Diabetes Specialist Nurses are unavailable there will be a clear message on mobile and office phones to indicate how to contact their colleagues in other localities in the county for advice, or Riverbank Children’s Ward as above.
